Wedding Qipao evening gown - part 2

A couple of months ago, I posted about my Qipao evening dress here. I finally picked it up on Anzac day after 2 dress fitting. The second fitting took 2 hours, we were trying it on then making small alternations then repeat it 4-5times and we have a perfectly fitting dress.

Pic taken during the first fitting, button on left is missing.

This is taken during the second fitting, second button is sewed on. Pins under the chest area to tighten the fabric around my waist for further alternations. This shot makes my chest look big for once in my life lol
Best full body shot I could get (this is not the completed dress, by the time it was ready I was too drained to be taking photos). The side split comes up just right. When im wearing this dress, it reminds me of chun li from street fighter! Just missing the two buns on my head lol

I found the fabric to crease really easily and even after constant ironing it doesn't look any better but I guess no one is going to notice on the night anyway.

So here you go my evening dress! Thoughts?

Wedding hair accessory

Wedding Wednesday!!!! I am sooo a last minute person, only a week to go! My wedding hair accessory/bridal comb arrived yesterday from Fletcher and Grace.

This bridal comb is called Bella, got it for $85 plus express shipping $14.95. Pretty good considering bridal shops normally have them for $250+.

From the website "The Bella Comb is a beautifully classic comb made with natural lustre man-made ivory pearl and sparkly genuine Swarovski crystals. This flexible comb can be worn on the side or at the back and looks gorgeous worn with classic as well as contemporary style dresses."

Size:Width 8.5 cm and Height 3.0 cm (exclude comb )

I was deciding between the bridal comb or placing flowers in my hair. I chose the comb because I needed more 'bling', my dress is plain and I'm only wearing earrings (no necklace). My next post will be on my evening dress (the Qipao). I've just picked it up tonight, stay tuned!

What would you prefer comb or flowers?

Review: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

My Shiseido cleanser recently finished and being the asian I am, I was too stingy to buy it from Myer or David Jones. I decided to try Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser since I've read forums and so many people were saying good things about it.

Cetaphil website "Originally developed by dermatologists especially for sensitive skin, Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser is a soap substitute that preserves your skin’s natural protective oils. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser softens your skin as it gently cleanses".

Application: I usually use this on a wet face then wash off. I was reading on some forums that if you apply it on your face while dry it works better. I tried it and nope still the same thing as applying on a wet face.
 Pros:
  • Left my face feeling smooth
  • I didn't break out
  • Odorless
  • Clear/colorless
  • Affordable
  • Available almost everywhere
Cons:
  • Doesn't wash off make up
  • Doesn't lather
  • Doesn't give me the clean fresh feeling

Overall: Everyone's skin type is different, I'm neutral about this product (don't love or hate) but doesn't mean it's the same for you!

Have you tried this product? What did you think?

Shopbop!!!

Check out my new babies from Shopbop! I ordered them last Thursday night and it arrived yesterday morning!!

I'm sorry about the photo quality, I find it really hard to avoid shadows when I'm taking pics, especially these ones.

Zipper style earrings!! They look better in real life, this photo does it no justice.
I saw these at DJs on sale for like $60ish and got it from Shopbop for like $48.. I don't know why our retail stores are so expensive.
Here's a pic of me wearing both earrings lol B was like "whoa! when did you get a second piercing?" I haven't worn an earring in my second piercing since high school, noticed how my ear is red? It's coz I had to force it in!! It starting to close up.

This morning they had a 20% off code!! Trying to find other stuff I can buy to make good use of the code. So tempted with all their Marc by March Jacobs stuff!

Have you bought from shopbop before? Were you as amazed as I was with their shipping?

DIY: Wedding Bouquet

Wedding Wednesday!!! As one of my cost saving initiatives for my wedding,  I have decided to make my own bouquet. The good thing is I'm using silk flowers so I can keep it for display after the wedding. I was planning on making a small bouquet to throw away at the wedding but I stopped by Spotlight and bought a mini pre-made bouquet they had on sale.

I bought about 28 ivory roses from a flower wholesaler and another 5 baby pink roses from Spotlight to start off my bouquet. Also bought florist tape, ribbons and 2 strands of pearls from Spotlight.

This is what my bouquet currently looks like, I have just tied it together with some wires. It looks a little small, I was thinking maybe another 10 baby pink roses to add to it. I haven't figured out how to attach the pearls on yet, right now it's just wrapping around the flowers (was thinking of maybe using a hot glue gun).

From the side view, I think there is a possibility of even using 15 roses. The stem will be covered by ribbons and I will tie a big bow on it.

What do you ladies think?

As always thanks for reading my blog! =)

Weekend: Dingley Village Adventure Mini Golf

Happy Monday! Hope you lovelies are enjoying your Easter break so far! Good Friday, B and I went to Dingley Village Adventure Mini Golf. It was mad fun, this is my first proper mini golf place I've been to.

 OOTD
Top: Kookai
Shorts: Witchery
Shoes: Converse chucks (my favourite shoes in the world)
Necklace: Forever New (got it for $3, RRP was $29.95!!)

This place is awesome, its just not some flat course. You go in and out of huts and some of the hole are three levels.

They got 2 courses, an indoor and outdoor. I prefer the outdoor course, the indoor seems a little too gloomy.

Dinner was at Fiesta in South Yarra, B loves his mexican food. Back in the US, he would eat mexican every week but in Australia mexican food is a tad expensive. The sangria we had was not as good as the one we made on Christmas. We found the receipe on taste.com.
I ordered the chicken and beef fajita. The servings are huge, my tummy felt like it was going to explode after dinner lol
After dinner, we went to see American Pie reunion. I spent the last few Saturday nights catching up on the 3 older American Pie movies in anticipation for this lol. The movie was hilarious!!!

How was your weekend?

Circle Lenses: Beuberry B.B Violet

Happy Easter everyone!!! Uniqso recently sent me a pair of circle lenses to review. This is my first pair of circle lenses! I ended up getting the Beuberry B.B Violet, it's such a pretty colour.

It came in this cute little box with a contact lense case too!

Brand: Beuberry
Colour: B.B Violet
Origin: South Korea
Diameter: 16mm
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Water Content: 55%
Duration: 12 month disposable
Look how amazing the violet looks!

I took a photo one eye with the contacts and one without so it's easier to compare. The diametre is perfect for my eyes and I love the doll like effect. Initially, I was worried that I might look like a vampire but it actually looks quite natural looking. This pic was taken without flash.

Here is a close up of my eye with the contacts on, pretty yeh???

Colour & Design: 5/5
For me, I like it not so over the top. If you are after something dramatic and you have dark eyes this may not be the right colour for you.

Enlargement: 5/5
16mm diametre is prefect for my eyes, I don't think it would have felt as comfy if it was larger and if it was smaller, it wouldn't have given the same effect.

Comfort: 4/5
I was actually really surprised, it's sooo comfy! Sometimes I wear normal clear dailies and they dry out my eyes but these felt like you don't have anything on. (I only wore it for a few hours so I don't know if it will dry your eyes after a whole day)

Overall: 4.7/5
Love these lenses and I will be definitely trying out other colours from Beuberry.

If you guys haven't checked out Uniqso, you should! Right now, they are offering 10% off their website if you use my code!
I have never seen such fantastic customer service. They respond to emails within an hour and sends out stuff even faster!! Definitely one of my best online shopping experience is with Uniqso.

Have you tried circle lenses? What are your favourites?

Weekend: Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show!

Happy Sunday!!! This weekend B and I headed to the Melbourne International Flower & Garden show. This is my second time going, last year I was a volunteer at one of the charities. I'm not a fan of gardening but I do love going to see the flowers there, so many beautiful floral decorations and arrangements.
I do wonder though, how they kept some of their flowers alive.
Check out the cute little grass rabbits on the bottom right corner.
If my wedding wasn't cherry blossom themed, I would have picked this as my centre piece. It's so simple yet beautiful.
It really amazes me to see how this was put together.

Today I was wearing my bracelet from OASAP. If anyone is interested this is a closeup of my bracelet. I was going to take an outfit pic but I completed forgot.
There was a Garnier dome there, kinda random to have a skincare beauty place in a flower show but hey I'm not complaining lol Had to wait like 15-20mins in the queue but so worth the wait!
Inside the dome, they can recommend skincare, hairstyling or a massage. I got a massage even though the line was the longest wait. The Garnier girl was amazing, I thought it would be a shabby shoulder and neck massage but I really enjoyed it.
When people leave, they hand out a goodies bag. Garnier was very generous, the products were all full size!! They said this bag is worth over $50! The good thing was they put in everyday products that ppl would use.

Going to the flower show has got me thinking, I would like to learn floral arrangements some time in the future after I finish studying. I am making my wedding bouquet and will be posting about it in the next week or two.

Has anyone else been to a similar flower show?
