Weekend: Hedgend Maze!

Happy Tuesday!!! Last weekend, B and I went to one of those outdoor mazes called Hedgend Maze. We found this place through the Entertainment book (trying to maximise the vouchers). If you look at the maze on the map, it looks huge but when you're actually there it's not. The girl said it would take an average person 30mins from start to finish, it took us 5 mins!!! LOL I drove 1.5hrs to go through a 5min maze!

Entrance to the maze

Quick snap of B walking in

The view from the look out tower

They had a 18 hole mini golf course. We made a bet, loser draws on the winners back and guess who won??
They also had Frisbee golf where you try to aim the frisbee at the flag pole. Wow my hair sure looks long from here, can't wait til after the wedding then I can get a fringe!

As you can see I was a little disappointed lol I was expecting some huge ass maze. Don't get me wrong this is a great place for kids, I just think I'm a little too old to enjoy it.

How was your weekend?

  1. I've been there, I loved it! Rather unfortunately it took us about two hours, but that's because a) we were 17 and b) we were all directionally challenged!! Did you go to the cafe? From recollection it is really yummy.

  4. How disappointing! I've almost gone in there before (visting the area) glad I didn't. There's a maze place on Mornington I'd be tempted to try though, has all sorts of extra stuff.

  8. I think I've tried Ashcombe, but we didn't get a map or anything...and we pretty much gave up after 5 minutes as we were tired to begin with, it was cold and muddy and there were spiders and spiderwebs EVERYWHERE!

You did great and it looked like a lovely thing to do on a sunny afternoon! :))

    1. yeh its bad if you go on a bad day. On the day that we went, it was actually raining in the morning and it cleared up during the day. The ground was a lil wet.

  10. Hey, thanks for the comment! Love your blog! The maze looks gorgeous, it would be a great place for a photo shoot or something but I bet it was a real bummer to drive for so long just for a 5 minute walk.

And omg, you're an accountant? You could help me with my homework! Lol. I'm taking a payroll accounting course right now.

  17. Hi Guys, Interesting reading!

I own Hedgend Maze and we really endeavour to get our vision out there.

We purchased this business four years ago and our vision is to re-connect kids to their families again. You know how busy lifestyles, work, finances and time restricts the fun time families can share being connected and together? Well this is the environment to re-connect, inspire each other in a positive, fun, sharing way. Its a day families can be present and walk away with awesome memories of exploring and experiencing Hedgend and all its attractions, together !

As for the maze, it is 1.2 kms long! It also has a secret message hidden inside, for families to get lost and explore and locate throughout the winding paths. The secret message changes a couple of times each year and the gates inside the maze also get moved around to continue the stimulation of our regular visitors. So the maze always changes!

Yes, this property has also been the site for photo shoots for a few professional advertising campaigns and a popular space for wedding receptions because of the gardens, too.

One more thing, our cafe... we have the vision of selling delicious, hearty, rustic handmade or local foods. A low footprint is important for us. So in our cafe, it is all about low food miles and healthy choices here! We try to grow as much of our cafe produce as we can from our kitchen garden on the property that visitors can explore as well! (Another way parents can interact with their kids!)

So pop some time aside with your family and come and experience it for yourselves...
